Hello, I think my ban is completely unfair and here are the reasons why. Okay so using the ‘@staff’ feature: I was using this feature when we were being threatened by a player and the staff were not doing anything about it. I was using it to get the attention of staff, as were my friends yasmiinkk and idol. What we were saying in the chat was not being dealt with effectively so we tried to get the attention of the staff. For all I knew they could’ve been AFK and I didn’t know how to use the tab button to see who is on, as I am fairly new to mc (around a week). ‘Making player base uncomfortable’ I didn’t make anyone uncomfortable, I don’t know what this means. I was getting annoyed at another player as they were threatening us and being rude to me and my friends so naturally I stood up for myself and friends. If I was making anyone uncomfortable I would have stopped. I was on discord call with mant of the people I made comments about and it was all light hearted fun. ‘Intentionally causing issues with staff and players’ I never intentionally cause issues, I stopped using @staff feature when I was told and after I was muted for only using it a few times as I have mentioned before. I find it ridiculous I was banned when members of the community have been threatening us for ‘revenge’ when we did nothing and gave him multiple pieces of iron and helped him get started on minecraft. Freyahargrave I also feel it is completely unfair to me muted on the discord chat. I was Confused about my ban as I had been playing earlier and didn’t even know what a discord notification was until I was notified by a friend. I mentioned this on the discord chat and was muted? I had nO Clue how to appeal a ban at all as I am quite new to this so I was just asking why but was instead muted. I’d Like to thank the person on the chat who told me what to do and appeal on here.

@staff is for emergencies only. Things that are impacting the entire server and can not be handled in a few minutes or a few hours. Whether you intended to use it or not in Discord a few hours ago, you did again which is why you were muted. For less time-sensitive issues, post them in #reports on the Discord or on this forum. Issues posted here are usually handled in less than 24 hours.
Be respectful to other players and don't bring up politics or race on the server. We've received several reports from players after they feel they've been humiliated in chat because of your comments. We have a very diverse player-base in age, heritage, and nationality. Don't make 'light hearted fun' with someone you don't know. It comes of as arrogant to assume what their reaction should or should not be, or to presumptuously invalidate that reaction. Consider making a /group chat for you and your friends if you think that your conversations might be misinterpreted by someone else on the server. Messages sent in group chats are only visible to members of that group.

A brief explanation of your ban.

The @staff ping. We understand it's not entirely clear what @staff does for new users. It's meant to be used in emergencies, IE DoS attack / spam bots / server down. When it's posted in the server chat or on Discord, our Discord bot pings several staff members to notify them that something is going down on the server. Most issues that arise don't fall into the emergency category. For those sorts of issues we have this forum and the #reports channel in Discord. Staff check both these regularly and can generally resolve any issues posted in within 24 hours.
"Intentionally causing issues with staff and players" is about conversation topics that have come up in public chat recently. We believe that Minecraft is not a medium where in which positive and productive conversations can be had on race, nationality, or politics. Few people join a Minecraft server with a mindset open to such a discussion and it usually ends in a disparaging argument.
