Hello all,
PeacefulCraft's 8th birthday is nearly upon us!. The server officially went online the evening of Friday, October 12th, 2012, which makes this coming Monday the special day.
The last year has been far different from what anyone could have imagined. Though we have no concrete metrics like new gamemodes, record-breaking player counts, or generous donation totals to reference, I am proud to represent this community and am especially appreciative of the things which we've seen online this year.
I'd like to thank the staff team for their continued efforts in supporting this community. I know many of you have dealt with a lot offline over the last few months with social, medical, and financial uncertainty looming ever more present. Nevertheless, you all remained committed, reliable, and responsive members of the community and have been integral in weathering the recent storms.
I'd be remiss if I didn't also acknowledge the developments and efforts which I've seen from the community. The outpouring of supportive comments, game nights, and friend groups bloomed during these uncertain times is astounding. In a world that seems to bear endless streams of negativity, I am proud to be apart of the constructive, professional, safe, and supportive community which we've all created.
We can't magic away all the bad things we see happening around us, but little by little we can influence our bit of the world and overtime change can be affected. Try to remain positive and be that supportive friend, family, class mate or colleague. I hope your time in this community has and continues to help you be that influence.
Events
Now onto the festivities. All our 8 year celebratory events will start on the 9th of October at 8pm EST. We plan on live streaming for a bit around that time and staff will be around to address any issues that arise.
Random Drops Server
For the rest of the month, we'll be running a random drops survival server. In short, it's like PvE, but everytime you break a block, it drops something random. For more details, check out this article.
Toggleable PvP on PvE
After many months of requests, we're adding toggleable PvP to PvE [and the random drops server]. PvP toggling will only work in the survival world. PvP will always be off in the peaceful world. PvP is also off by default so if you don't want to PvP, you don't need to do anything. You will automatically be protected. Voting Rewards & Community Incentives
All voting rewards will be 8x'd for the remaining duration of the month. Voting for PeacefulCraft on any of the server listing sites at that link or in /vote will give you $8,000 on PvE. The usual "wb" bonus will also give $8 instead of $1.
