1.16.1 Upgrade
We will be upgrading to 1.16.1 Tuesday, June 30th at 10PM EDT. (Tomorrow night for most people)
All servers will be down for at least 6 hours during the upgrade. I'll be doing the best I can to keep this list up to date with progress and try to be available to answer questions leading up to and during the downtime in #chat.
Nether Reset
We will be resetting the nether. If you have things there you want to keep, move them to the Peaceful, Normal, or End worlds. We will be wiping nether block logs so there will be no way for us to get your items back after the reset. After the reset we will still allow building on top of the nether.
Why do the servers need to be down for 6 hours?
As you can see from said list, we're doing a lot more than just upgrading to 1.16. Most of these changes are necessary because of our hosting company switch a few months back. They require downtime so we've been waiting until now to do them.
1.15 Support
If you plan on using Minecraft 1.16, you can ignore this. Everything will work seamlessly and you'll see the new stuff.
We will be supporting Minecraft 1.15, 1.15.1, 1.15.2, 1.16, and 1.16.1 clients so you'll be able to remain on Minecraft 1.15[.x] if you are waiting for mods to update. However, we highly recommend everyone use 1.16.1. We can't magic new block textures and mobs into your game. Instead, users using an older version of the game will see 'fake blocks' and 'fake mobs' in place of the new ones. IE, Striders appear as Magma cubs and Basalt appears as Terracotta. We'll try and get a list of old -> new blocks to help 1.15 users distinguish between 'fake' and 'real' blocks.
World Border Expansion
We will be expanding the world border. The border will move from 30,000 blocks out to 35,000 blocks out. The new rtp range will be /rtp 16
