Hello everyone.
Today I am happy to announce our latest community event, Minecraft Ninja Warrior! Akin to its namesake, American Ninja Warrior, contestants will compete for the best time trial through a custom obstacle course. The one with the best time will be named Minecraft's Ninja Warrior.
Sign Up
Fill out this form, indicating which times you could perform your time trial. Use your Minecraft IGN in the name field. A complete schedule will be sent out Thursday (6/3) with everyone's trial times.
Competition Structure
- We've planned two time-blocks for competition runs on different days (6/4 and 6/6). They are not separate competitions. This is one large competition, there are just two days to try and offer more times that fit into people's schedules.
- Each participant will get one, 10 minute period to beat the course. Unlike ANW, if you fall off you will respawn at the last checkpoint and can continue.
- The user who beats the course in the fastest time, or makes it the furthest - if no one beats the course - wins.
- Everyone will compete individually. All runs will be streamed to the PCN Twitch Channel.
Prizes
The winner will receive bragging rights and a [MNW] Prefix on PCN for 1 month.
The Course
Thank you to @Yopal and his sanity for putting together an example run showing how to complete the obstacles and use the check point system.
Training
Starting Monday, May 31st we will open a public server with a copy of the course for unlimited practice. Note that the checkpoints will not work here. Use /warp commands to get around. To connect to the practice server, login to PCN and use /server mnw.
Resource Pack
We've prepared a resource pack to go along with the map. The pack only contains music and is completely optional. If you have resource pack prompting enabled in your game client - it is enabled by default - there will be a download prompt when you join the test server.
