We will re-create discussion threads at a later date as all of the enclosed changes were things did and still want to implement eventually.

When will PCN update to 1.17?
We do not have a date yet. Spigot has not released a stable 1.17 build yet. Additionally, we run 70 plugins across all our servers which need at least precursory testing on 1.17 to try and avoid egregious bugs. An announcement will be made when we do have a date chosen.
We know that ViaVersion has support for 1.17, but providing forward compatibility to 1.17 clients would just cause more confusion. ViaVersion doesn't actually implement game features so you'd be able to join using a 1.17 game client, but not actually see any of the 1.17 features because our servers would still be running on 1.16.5.
We need a multi-hour downtime window to perform system updates and credential rotations. This will likely coincide with the 1.17 update. Right now we anticipate 4-6 hours of downtime, probably overnight (EST). Further announcements will be made once we have a time selected.
World Resets
Given that the world generation changes may not be released for over a year, we will not be resetting for 1.17. We do still plan on resetting whenever the caves and cliffs generation is released. At that time we will provide map downloads for all worlds on PvE.
This does mean that we do not have an immediate solution to the blocks randomly disappearing in specific chunks problem. We will work to the best of our technical ability and reach out to the wider Bukkit community in hopes of a solution, but there is no ETA or promise of resolution. If you experience this bug, please notify a staff member so we can log it for debugging purposes and to restore any blocks which may have been eaten by the world.
Spawn Changes
We do still plan on making a new spawn area that will aggregate Peaceful and Normal spawns into a single void world. To leave spawn /rtp
will be modified to take a world argument; /rtp peaceful
or /rtp normal

Sky Mall
There will be no changes to the current mall.
Replacing Towny
There will be no changes to Towny. As much as we would love to migrate off of it, doing so without a world reset is not worth the headache.
Economy Changes
There will be no changes made to the current admin shop or mall.
Farmers Market Minigame
Every 60ish days a new "season" will begin. Each season a set of farmables - crops and or mob drops - will be selected for the market. During the 60 day season, everyone will compete to submit the most of the given crop(s) to the market through the /ship
menu. It will look like the /sell
menu. Submitted crops count for points towards the current season. At the end of the season payouts will be distributed based on points earned. More points means more money. There will be a live scoreboard available to track who is in the lead. Payouts will be done in tiers so everyone has a chance to earn some money, not just the top n players.
