Staffing, especially on smaller game server networks is a rather fluid thing. I know that we sometimes take our selves rather seriously given our size and primary userbase, but I stand by the levels of accountability, introspection, and responsibility which we yield. We may be a small Minecraft server, but the weight of the things said in chat carry no less weight than they would if said face to face. Cyberbullying and other predatory behaviors are real and their consequences equally so.
In an effort to combat those activities and moreover demonstrate our commitment to combatting them, we have prepared the Staff Expectations and Responsibilities document. All the policies enumerated in this document are inline with the expectations which have been in place of staff members since at least January 2019. The purpose of this document is to place those expectations in writing for clarity, both among the staff team and to the wider community.
The document gets rather syntactically technical and verbose so welcome questions, comments, concerns, and or clarification on any of the policies within. All active members of staff have "signed" the document with their usernames, indicating they have read and agree to uphold the policies listed. The document includes proceedings for handling reports, investigations, and terminations which may arise as a result of policy violations. In an effort to make this information accessible, the Staff & Policies page includes brief summaries on what to report and how to do so.
Again, we welcome inquiries and comments about this change. Feel free to respond to this forum thread at any time, or reach out to a staff member directly.
